About Emily Carr

Emily Carr was a Canadian artist and writer who was inspired by the Indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest Coast. She became a leading figure in Canadian modern art in the twentieth century. Carr experimented with a Post-Impressionist style and Fauvism in her paintings of Aboriginal life and the Canadian landscape.
