<p>Apollo 11 spacecraft launching on top of a Saturn V rocket from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA, on 16th July 1969. This was the first manned mission to the Moon. On 20th July NASA astronauts Neil Armstrong and then Edwin (Buzz) Aldrin became the first men to walk on the Moon. The Apollo 11 crew, which also included Michael Collins returned safely to Earth on 24th July 1969.</p>
