Historical artwork of the constellation Aquarius - Item # 1154246
Aquarius. Coloured historical artwork of the constellation of Aquarius. The constellation is depicted as a man pouring water from a jug by his chest. Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the Zodiac. The Sun is in Aquarius between 20 January and 18 February. It is a large yet diffuse and inconspicuous constellation. The triangle of stars representing his forearm and hand is the most recognisable of the groupings. The Sun's path, the ecliptic, is shown by the black and red line at centre. This artwork is based on a sky map by the Polish-German astronomer Johannes Hevelius (1611- 1687), which was published posthumously in 1690.
