Little stint, historical artwork

Item # 1412340

Sheila Terry

Little stint. Historical artwork of a little stint (Calidris minuta). This small wading shorebird is a migrant, breeding in the sub-Arctic tundra and islands, and spending the winter around the coasts of Africa. It feeds on insects, crustaceans and molluscs, which it usually finds on mudflats and estuaries. It reaches a maximum length of around 14 centimetres. This artwork was drawn by Archibald Thorburn (1860-1935).
