<p>Javanese artist Aricadia joined Sanggar Bunga-Buinga Bali, an artists' community where he began to explore his skills and freedom, combining realist and impressionist techniques on canvas. This resulted in a style of painting featuring a contrast of colors that are sharp and wild.</p>

<p>Slender, almost emaciated, she crouches in a corner and takes a near-fetal position. Yet, try as she might, she cannot make herself invisible. By Aricadia, this compassionate portrait explores the enigma of the woman's situation. 'God creates woman with her beauty of body and soul which is true and real,' the Javanese artist says. 'We could understand if we gave love, and she only can be touched with kindness. If we try to describe her, she will disappear as a mist.'</p>
