<p>Javanese artist Aricadia joined Sanggar Bunga-Buinga Bali, an artists' community where he began to explore his skills and freedom, combining realist and impressionist techniques on canvas. This resulted in a style of painting featuring a contrast of colors that are sharp and wild.</p>

<p>Warmth emanates from this superb figure study by Aricadia, yet shades of green envelop her, creeping across the sensuous contours. The Balinese artist explores the bitterness of a failed relationship. 'Love is a deadly poison, the breath of a poisonous black snake suffering in hell!' he exclaims. The beauty of his portrait belies the despair in his words.</p>
