<p>Cliched buddy film that's sauced up a bit with the unlikely pairing of loud-mouthed Tucker and swift-footed Chan. Motormouth L.A. detective James Carter (Tucker) is temporarily assigned to the FBI to babysit Hong Kong detective Lee (Chan) and keep him away from a kidnapping case that Lee is anxious to solve for personal reasons. Chan is more subdued stuntwise than in his own pictures but nonetheless a charmer against the abrasive Tucker. The culture clash scenes and some high gloss action moments make for a rousing action-comedy. Film was a surprise boxoffice smash.</p>
