The Sacramento California Temple overlooks Lake Natoma from the hill where it sits. The Sierra Nevada Mountains can be seen from the temple and the surrounding trees give it a calming vibe. The space was originally a recreational center but was transformed over the course of two years to be the 123rd operating temple. The exterior of the temple is made from a light gray granite. It was dedicated in 2004 and 2006 by Gordon B. Hinckley.
