Seven of the 12 passengers ships that arrived in New York today are shown docked at their respective piers. They brought some 9,000 travelers, most of them transatlantic, and port officials called it the top day in the long history of New York. The nearing end of the vacation season accounted for the heavy arrival, which caused port officials and customs men to be almost doubled in stregnth shown lined up here are from left: The Britannica (cunard); Queen Mary (cunard), and world's second largest; Maretania (cunard); Flandre (French); Olympia (greek); United States (United States Line), and Independance (American export line).
