Smith's colorful and textural paintings evolve from the layering techniques he uses. Working mostly with oil and acrylic paints and texturing media, he uses everyday tools to create textured patterns and depth. He finds inspiration in rich colors, shapes and emerging rhythm he sees in his everyday urban life.
