About Badlands National Park

Known as the Land of Stone and Light, the dramatic landscapes of Badlands National Park are home to steep canyons, towering spires, layered rock formations and an expanse of mixed grass prairie. The local wildlife include bison, prairie dogs and bighorn sheep; and the park is also home to some of the world's richest fossil beds.
